Building cleaner, stronger, and more equitable communities through clean energy, culture and opportunity.

Electrify the City is a place-based program designed to accelerate the adoption of clean energy, bolster local job creation, and produce lasting economic and environmental change. We braid private and public capital into our programs and our plan is to integrate them into the local resilience network, build equity, add decades of useful life to the buildings while preserving cultural assets such as salons, schools, houses of worship, clinics, veterinary offices, and other businesses that have site control.

Community Education and Roundtable (Conversations for the Culture)

Climate change and environmental degradation are among the most pressing challenges facing communities globally. While these issues are often discussed at the level of governments or large corporations, small businesses—particularly those in vulnerable or marginalized communities—are also on the front lines. This program outlines a way for organizing community conversations focused on climate and environmental justice for small business owners, residents, and stakeholders in Metro Atlanta. The aim is to build capacity and understanding of how environmental issues impact community in our daily lives. Our goal is to provide community with the tools and knowledge needed to address these challenges in a sustainable, equitable, and economically viable way.

The objective of these community conversations are to:

  • Raise awareness among small business owners, residents and community stakeholders about the impact of climate change and environmental degradation on their businesses, communities and in their personal lives.

  • Understand the role that local government and regulatory bodies play in accelerating clean and resilient cities. 

  • Provide a culturally relevant platform for communities to share their experiences, concerns, and ideas related to climate and environmental justice using art and entertainment as the conduit for adoption.

  • Equip stakeholders with actionable strategies to reduce their environmental footprint, increase resilience, and contribute to environmental justice within their communities while adopting more sustainable lifestyles.

  • Foster collaboration and networking among communities to build stronger, more sustainable local economies.

  • Create a foundation and needs assessment for local resilience hubs in low wealth, Black and Brown communities.

Apprenticeship and Technical Skills Development Program

Apprenticeship and Technical Skills Development Program provides a structured one-year pathway for individuals seeking careers in the clean energy, entertainment, and sustainability sectors. Through a combination of hands-on camps, industry-focused workshops, and formal paid apprenticeship training, participants gain practical experience, technical certifications, and workforce readiness skills. The program emphasizes equitable access to high-growth career opportunities while building competencies in renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, environmental stewardship, project management, and professional leadership. By partnering with industry professionals and community organizations, Klean Energy Kulture creates meaningful learning experiences that prepare participants for long-term employment, economic mobility, and leadership within the green economy.

The Southern HBCU Culture and Clean Energy Initiative

A Comprehensive Campaign Blueprint for Klean Energy Kulture

By framing zero-emission technology and environmental stewardship through culturally relevant mediums, KEK reaches and politically activates an untapped audience critical to protecting climate policies, advancing modern infrastructure, and preserving democratic structures.

This blueprint focuses exclusively on the independent, culture-driven operational framework of Klean Energy Kulture. By establishing a specialized Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) campus network across the American South, KEK directly engages the 18–45 demographic through a synchronized series of cultural, experiential, and educational activations, backed by a robust Culture Activation Network of strategic coalition partners.
